We used to have a Kwik Save up the road from us....I watched it being ram-raided one evening by two kids in a Mk2 Cavalier. A plod turned up twenty minutes later in a Mk5 Escort. Not bad considering the police station was 500 yards away.....

How many sleeves of fags dld the officers manage to put in the boot of their Escort before the next patrol arrived at the scene or did you manage to Hoover up any left by the bandits?

They just did the tills as far as I can remember....backed up the Cav through the plate glass windows, ran around with hammers and legged it with the cash drawers. Cavalier was found two streets away but the nippers never got caught.....I fancied a bird in there but the copper was all over that.

I had one of those also in white, cost me 100 quid and served me faithfully for a couple of years. It was slowly rotting, indeed the offside wing mirror slowly descended into the wing which was itself made mainly of the finest Isopon. I took the mirror off and fixed the hole with duck tape which as we know fixes everything. I later dumped it at a friend's workshop after the drivers door window mysteriously shattered while it was parked a couple of feet alongside my '63 Galaxie. I still reckon that the neighbour's moronic son did it.
