So what other cars went from FWD to RWD working on the basis these are developments of the Triumph 1300?

I can only think of competition cars but there must be more.

I can't think of any. Lots took the backwards step of changing to fwd but no others I know did the correct thing.

All I can think of is Renault Trafics, where the larger engined ones were RWD . Some Transits came with both too.

The FWD P4/P6 Taunus range of German Fords were replaced by the Cortina-shape TC which of course was RWD. It isn't a direct replacement as the front driven cars were smaller and technically replaced by Escorts but it is an example of production engineering at that time (1970) favouring a RWD platform as opposed to the technically more advanced V4 FWD cars.

The (possibly) unique thing about the Triumphs is that they went from FWD 1300 to RWD Toledo/FWD 1500 before the reversion to RWD on the bigger car by which time the 1850 Dolomite had arrived, paving the way to eventual Dolomisation of the range. The Toledo (originally only a 2 door, short boot saloon) of course replaced the Herald which was also RWD but of swing-arse configuration as opposed to the later car's live axle.

I once did several hundred miles in a FWD Discovery after blowing a diff apart, it had comedy wheelspin up to about 4th gear out of roundabouts.
