Re: Found pics
Can our resident ADO16 licker(s) confirm something regarding that Longbridge line......?
I always believed VDPs were pulled off the line in the "white" and transported to Kingsbury for completion. As the photo suggests, were they then returned for final assembly?

e.g. paint them first at Longbridge, but if need rectification do that at Kingsbury along with the coachlines.

Re: Found pics
Having since made the effort to consult Robson's Cars of BMC which was only a short arm-stretch away....
Apparently the 1100s were initially partly built at Longbridge and then finally finished at Kingsbury much as is outlined in MotorSport for the 1500s/1750s. However due to capacity problems developing at the VdP works during 1966/7 many (but not all) 1100s were completely built in-house on the Austin lines. I assume the photograph posted here is from early in that period - Mk1 Mini / A40 era.
1300s reverted back to the original and subsequent arrangement, presumably when the 4 Litre R ceased production and freed up some capacity at Kingsbury....

Re: Found pics
First time I've seen pre-worboys signs shown together like this, like we expect in modern highway code books.
