Re: Found pics
Where I used to work we looked after a period replica of that car. It didn't have the bubble top but had a plaque on the dash from Jaguar saying it was replica.

Re: Found pics
It certainly is London Bridge, a few years later I would be among those people trudging wearily into work. Those walkways in the background were still in use in 1972 when I started my career* in the City. But been retired since April 30th 2010 due to illness and I've never been back. Commuting was shit.

Re: Found pics
A good reminder that the ADO16 topped the charts for a solid 8 years - at a time when the family car was main focus of the majority of the motor industry, spanning a time between the Mk1 Cortina appearing and the first onslaught of Jappery.
Minis, Escorts and assorted Continental stuff were all second-bat to the 1100 family - a fact which should be remembered far more than it seems to have been. No reflected glory from competition success either - just doing exactly what an awful lot of people needed from a car.
Don't like 'em, never will, but their place in history cannot be denied.....

Aye I don't like them either, but they did exactly what most people needed from a car at the time.
