I've mentioned him before but there is a geezer round our way does industrial electrical repairs and works out of a Morris J van. He must kill one every five or six years because they are out in all weathers and gradually disintegrate before being broken for spares for the next one.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

We did some work on a J van from down your way, it had been 'restored' for a domestic appliance company and when returned to them wasn't remotely drivable. It got carted up to Lincs for the attention of our shitemongering department. They can be wretched things at the best of times, but I remember lying underneath looking in vain for something solid enough to hang a new exhaust from. Yeah, it does fit the profile! He had one in Dinky Capstan colours - I've lost count now but I can think of four different vans, mostly hand-painted green - some Austin 101 and some Morris badged. The rate of attrition after a couple of winters' use is frightening. He has no other vehicle either.
