this weekend i went to Hartlepool, both by my own free will, and not to buy some exploding trousers.

cos the weather is still ok, i took Cocopop. we actually went over there to see the toy trains on show at the Technical College. i dunno why there is a Jet Provost in the car park, but there is.

there were plenty of impressive trainsets on show, and there was this in the carpark. the ultimate in campervans, this Dodge Ram day van.

also this weekend i did get a set of sparkplugs for marvin. unfortunately this is as far as i got to fitting them, i'll do better next weekend. maybe.

we also had a run over to the other lockup and had a peek in on Rodney mini, i took the battery off of that car, as i don't see me taking the car out again this year. we also started up the Harley Sportster. i was shocked that it actually did start, as its not been looked at in a while, though it was i think giving us carbon monoxide poisoning with the fumes off it running in the garage.

lastly on to the Heinz 57 Fiat. well some cunt has dented it. yup. i've only had the bloody thing 5 minutes and some cunt has opened their door into it. the dent in the drivers back quarter might be small. but the fucking thing was arrow straight when i got it and now this. wankers. this is why i cannot have nice things. and why i actively despise almost all of the rest of the human race.

1. Love that orange Mini!
2. Wot's that Reno picture for?
3. Fuckin' bastards, doesn't matter if it's a nice or expensive car or a shit cheap one, people who dent it and then leave like it doesn't matter should be made to eat their own... (fill in the space yourself)

the tour around the Trincomalee is excellent and runs the full length of the ship, the gun deck, the keel and though both powder magazines just like the tour of the Victory also covers the whole ship. it is certainly worth a visit if you are interested in history or like ships.

the odd Renner migraine picture is a Jet Provost picture and not a Renner Migraine. it wasn't the sort of thing i was expecting to see in a College carpark. nice to see though all the same!

I remember seeing both the Jet Provost and Piston Provost at Biggin Hill Air Fair in the 70s, the jet being much more exciting to watch.
I would love to visit HMS Trincomalee but it’s a long way from East Sussex. However I have been on it before when I was kid in the early 70s. In those days it was called TS Foudroyant, anchored at Portsmouth and I went on a week long school trip where we stayed on the ship, sleeping in a hammock and got taken on various sea faring trips and tasks the only one I remember really was sailing in the ship’s cutter to the Isle of Wight. The staff were all ex sailors and it’s the first time I heard grown ups properly swearing!

today i've been and taken the orange Mini over to the storage spot for winter.

the tax is up at the end of the month and i won't be using the car again this year, so i've been and put it away until the spring. its now parked up next to a Range Rover classic, and a Manta A. both are resto projects, of a sort. the Manta has already lost it number plate which was apparently worth stupid money, and the Range Rover is tatty but complete. now i thought you had to get a car mot'd and on the road before you could get the reg number transfered off it, that Manta while been a complete thing it does have plenty of rust on show and doubtless much more hidden from view.... either way that car has not seen the road for a LOOOOOOOOONG time.

also in fiat news we have been underneath it too. a Fiat, needing Fix It Again Tomorrow? well no, see we thought we had a blow on the exhaust. there is a definite blow sound coming from the back of the car. well having looked we do, and we don't. see those clever Poles (cos the fiat 500/panda/ford ka all come from the Polski-Fiat factory in Tychy (pronounced Ti-hee apparently, i am now convinced Polish is just a massive troll on the English, and thats before i mention all the C's, S's, and Z's on odd places in words) have made the back muffler with a drain hole in it. and that is where the blow sound from the exhaust is coming from! at least then all that moisture from the catalyst can get out of the exhaust instead of just sitting there and causing rust! so what is the Fiat like underneath? well its spotless, now to get a dry spell so i can get something sprayed on under there, to keep it looking that way! and get that parking dent sorted too. i'm still vexed over that.

Blaze, 72-75, replacing Bronze yellow and replaced by Flamenco 75-77 and replaced by Vermillion (Vermin) for 1978.

Yeah.
