Our Punto was far better than the A140 that replaced it, even after the missus rolled it into the side of the house a few days after delivery.

so a bit of a fleet update - we have managed to get another MOT for the orange mini.

ok thats a pass with advisories, but a pass is a pass. the advises were for rust on the back subframe, had that one for maybe 4 years now, and got a brand new one upstairs. apparently its considered "not normal" to have a door, bonnet and subframe sat in your spare room.

another was slight play in a ball joint, so George has put a new shim in it to cure that, and the other advisory was that the back brake line has grease or other material on it.... again its been the same for several years cos i put the grease on it!

now if only we can find some paint for it, George has said he is able to do the body work on the car that needs attention on it, assuming that we can get some paint for it....

so with an MOT achieved on Cocopop, next one to get some attention is Marvin the Metro. well i did get as far as getting it out of the garage. and it still runs like a bag of shit. i took it down to the garage to put some air in the tires. now at one point we were i think down to 3, possibly even 2 cylinders. funny how it had not fixed itself while it was in the garage. bastard. with the tires blown up, i took it for a blast down some of the Trunk Road. it was running better when i got it back. like i think we did have all4 pots firing, but, it does have a pretty saviour miss fire. and the brakes seemed to be iffy too. well, i did the right thing, and put it away again!

maybe it'll get looked at this year, but i wouldn't bet on it.

and finally the Fiat. well its not quiet Fix It Again Tomorrow as its still going ,but it is developing a blow on the exhaust. now i thought i had heard it huffing a bit last week only to be told no, no its fine. well you can see the GLEE on Kerry's face when it was announced that the new car has a blow on the exhaust. not that you can hear it in the car. BUT its what, nearly 7 years old and its done next to no miles so is i guess to b e expected. afterall mufflers rust from the inside out, and the car has low miles meaning that the exhaust will not have gotten warm all that often. if it does need an exhaust, it will be getting a stainless steel one fitted as i intend to run this car into the ground just like i did the Rover. AND the exhaust on Kerry's Toyota is DEFINATLY blowing like a blowing thing, i didn't gloat about that. well, not much.......honest!

I do like Cocopop, I always wanted one of them. Not in that colour, but still.
