oh now that is a sweet looking little thing, vamillion (or is it blaze, they kinda both look the same to me) paint, a webasto sun top, 10 inch revolution 4-spokes and a button steering wheel, just how i like to remember a lot of the Mini's running about in my youth!

Blaze, 72-75, replacing Bronze yellow and replaced by Flamenco 75-77 and replaced by Vermillion (Vermin) for 1978.

Yeah.

Sorry I should have replied, but got waylaid. Totally correct it was Blaze and it's a right bastard to match when someone dents or scratches it.

with spring starting to spring, daffodils coming out and the weather kinda picking up the time has come to start to think about getting the miniture cars out of the garage.

and also to start to think about what downgrades are needed to them. with that in mind i have taken the plunge and bought a state of the art "stereo" (well for 1974) rig for Rodney Mini, the '74 Mini 1000.

this popped up recently on the bay-of-fleas having been recently removed from an Austin Cambridge, in working order along with a pair of cassettes. Andy Williams and Peters and Lee. well i have hear of Andy Williams......

so i have had it all out of the box, and both myself and my highly trained "auto electrician" have examined the instructions and the wires which were included with it, plus the mounting brackets too are included. i have got a pair of like pod speakers in the spares upstairs too which came with the car which are of the same period, so whether i use them, or just put new speakers into the back seat interior trim pads which have already been cut, sadly, i will decide closer to the time when i get it fitted. there was a radio in the car when i got the car and when i took it out, i did leave the positive feed that is cut into the ignition in the car, somewhere!

i have had a days holiday today. i have had a plumber come and change my kitchen tap, and also service the boiler.

they are busy, very busy as its taken the better part of 3 weeks to get around to what was a routine and not urgent job.
that was this morning, so, now what to do with the afternoon, now that i don't have work getting in the way? simple, lets get the black Mini out of the garage! the first time in i guess 6 months its seen daylight.

all seems in order, it starts, it goes into gear though i thought there was not that much clutch pedal there at first, like it wants bleeding or something though Kerry disagrees. as its still unsettled round here and the council have been busy spreading salt all over the place, again, i have not been any distance in it! so the car seems ok, Teddy is ok, just as well given that i forgot to lift it out, and i also found the hat i missplaced too. which was nice.

come on spring, where the hell are you? i'm deffo done with winter....

I've always had a bit of a desire for an 8 track tape player, no idea why but possibly as I occasionally used to find 8 track cassettes whilst going through crashed or scrapped cars and was never able to listen to any of them.
