I think they started about 1947, or the design did. That does look like a S1 one with those doors.

I think the very early ones were only 1,600cc, then 2,000cc & onto the famous 2 1/4 that lasted forever.

I've been in an early 1600cc one years back and it seemed to nip along quite nicely as they are so small.
