Anyway in more hopeful news, I spotted an Allegro earlier on the back of a tilt-and-slide. It looked pretty up together and was an earlier non-sporting model of some kind (I was trying to hustle the Minor round a satisfyingly tight-but-fast roundabout) hopefully off to a new home.....
