I wonder just how much reinforcing needed doing as, if I remember correctly, they were considered pretty floppy as standard.

I'd suspect if it's 4x4 as well, it's probably been nailed over the floorpan of a proper car which could help a lot.
I remember a 4x4 Cossie Escort van I saw once. It was a Sierra floor, cut in four & then cut down to the right size & glued back together with a sparkly stick. Then they nailed the van on top of it.
