Unlike Reliant 3 Wheelers.
Theoretically I still have a 25% share in a written off one from 45+ years ago. We used to drive it around the garages whilst sat on a bucket.

But you don't find Reliant Robins on the same type of track. Presumably because they can't be trusted to not get in the way.
Or stay the right way and not litter the track...

Finally you have found some taste, much nicer than any of that BL tat or an old aunty Rover.SiC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:50 pm This is one very smart looking machine.

Re: EBay Finds
I've been watching quite a lot of this guys recommissioning and renovation videos of mundane British cars:
https://youtube.com/user/oldclassiccarRJ
It has got me into really wanting some porridge. Problem is that all types of porridge is expensive and even bran flakes are pricey.
That Rover P2 is still not hit reserve and presumably will go for a fair bit more or not hit it. It's the type of car that perhaps is of a generation that is now dieing off. So potentially more around in the near future and filling the market more. Hopefully leading to prices dropping a bit.
I'm keeping my eye out for a reasonably priced P4 still. While I fancy porridge, I rather not be a mobile road block. Not least there is a 40/50mph hill to get out of our village that I'd rather not be crawling up at half that while a pop&bang shitbox is up my arse. Something like a P4 should have enough pudding in reserve to pull itself along gracefully while hitting the right porridge notes I'm after.

Re: EBay Finds
I do love p2s but P4 and 5s are where it's at! My stepdad had a P4 110 when he first met up with my mother and I loved it. It was a bit of an old nail and the brakes would randomly lock on and force the car to a halt and then you sat and waited for whatever it was to cool down before they would release and you could drive on. But it just felt so right.
When it finally died (rust, rust and more rust) he bought a newish P5B coupe which was the very best car on the planet, better even than the old dears Jag420 (with painted wire wheels) as it just seemed to fly. Could have been the way the old twat drove it (usually pissed and very late at night from Sunningdale back to Kew) and he reckoned that 'old Rovers, never get stopped!' and he seemed to be right as he never did!
I had a P5b coupe when I was in my early 20s and very into classic cars(the MK X was safe in the garage, the Rover was the daily) and it was fucked, big time and frequently ran on 7... or 6 and it had all new cam followers as the old ones were cracked beyond belief and one of the intake elbows fell off and got in between the steering column and locked it while turning right...
Sold it to a right dodgy twat who owed me money which was only resolved when a load of nasty chaps on big motorbikes turned up at his door... but that's another story.
