This one came up on one of the Aussie car owners in the UK groups, tyres obviously not illegal when crash occurred or they would have done them for it, not spun it so more likely driver error, especially with the V8 weight up front I doubt the rears were doing much braking anyway..

I dunno. They have in this instance "driver reported" means a TOR has been filed.
Back in c.2004, when I had a nearside front blowout on my Landcrab the wrong side of Killington Lake Services (I was in lane 3 and just past the exit sliproad, so was on the shoulder just after the services), I had the old bill pull up after I started to change the tyre.
Fortunately I got good cop that night as he didn't say a word about my slightly ropey looking spare (I only seen how shit it was when I lowered the tray), but he did tell me about his Triumph Dolomite.
Just sometimes, they use a bit of discretion (and save themselves some paperwork).
