Re: Two wheels good.
Rode over the Pyrenees by going via Andorra. Road climbed up to 2,408 metres (7,900 feet).
No wonder the poor sod on the LC350 spent so long kicking it over. English rider said it was going well, but not sure he could see his speedo or rev counter.
Great views from the top, as were the roads getting there from Carcassonne.
Staying tonight in Alcaniz, home of the Aragon Circuit, and the N211 road from Fraga is 68 kms of joy. Empty, big sweeping bends, great views, and no speed cameras. Recommended.

Re: Two wheels good.
Well I'm off to Scarborough on Sunday for a few days. I won't post any pics as they'd obviously put all of yours to shame.

Re: Two wheels good.
I wouldn't have been happy if a punter I did a "quickie" CBT for publicised the name of my training school!
How long were you doing compound and classroom stuff for? In my experience, those elements last as long as it takes for the instructor to think he's got better than a 50% chance of passing a police drink/drugs test.
Even by my standards, seven miles road work is a bit short.

Re: Two wheels good.
I can assure you that the instructor was just as pissed off about the weather as you were. Plenty of times I've stood on the compound in the pissing rain under a golf umbrella only to have to do my best Mary Poppins tribute act by levitating to avoid being mowed down by a CG125 sliding on its side towards me.
Teaching two learners of differing abilities is always a pain in the fucking arse. It's even worse when one is on a scooter and the other on a 125.
If you know what you're doing then it's not unusual for the instructor to CBT you on a big DAS bike, I've done a fair few CBTs where the punter is riding one of our ER5s. This also makes them keen to pay for a DAS course.

Re: Two wheels good.
Spoke to a French bloke at the hotel in Gap last night, who told me that to pass his full bike licence test, cost him €600.
But that was for 20 hours tuition, and from what he told me, it covered a lot of areas of riding that is not covered in the UK
€30 an hour seems really cheap, although my test consisted of riding clockwise, and then anti-clockwise, around a set four road course.

We charged £45 for two hours poor instruction on an ER5 back in the mid 2000s.Jerzywoking wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 10:25 pm Spoke to a French bloke at the hotel in Gap last night, who told me that to pass his full bike licence test, cost him €600.

Re: Two wheels good.
IIRC £145 for up to 16h inc. first test. Passed first time after 8h. Think my CBT was £60.
