My mates mother used my white metro convertible on her wedding day. It was a glorious day and they had the roof down and ribbons on it etc. It was about twelve years ago, maybe more.

When wedding planning, I was dragged to numerous wedding fairs. They all wanted £500 to take my ex from her house 2 miles to the church, then both of us 5 miles to the reception in their clapped out old jags.
Was moaning to my neighbour about it in the pub. For our wedding present, he drove us in his brand new Jaguar XKR, complete with a cap.

Things like this make the hassle of running this place totally worth it :lol:

First time it was a silver shadow and on tick over the oil light was flickering - but we did make it to the reception. :lol:

Second time a 1930s Austin 18. The NSF door flew open on the way and I had to secure it with some cloth by tying it round the B post. Must admit it did look like part of the wedding trimmings. :D

I also used to hire out this for weddings in the 90s;

The number plate is now on a motor cycle so I assume the car is long dead.

I only did one wedding with it, ran my step son and his Mrs to the registry office and back.

I had lots of comfortable miles out of the car and it was in the Crown and Call the Midwife a few times. Sold it at the beginning of Covid.

Nice P4. Did the dog do that front wheel before or after the wedding?

Wanted to turn up to my first wedding on my bike. My fiancée said that if I did, she would not marry me.

How I now wish I had...
