I cut the wire at the break, trimmed the outer back & slid the heat shrink on before soldering it back together.

I'd look into that if I hadn't been offered one for free on FB by someone who's got spare throttle bodies & doesn't need it.Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 8:32 pm A cable place would do that no bother. It's like a speedo cable inner and their crimper will keep it on miles better than any Araldite.
I'll keep the old one somewhere & might get around to getting it fixed at some point.

Ah, OK. Photos seemed to show solder on the break before the shrink wrap was fitted.

They do.
After a car I tried to do the same repair on once & found the wire seemed to be solder proof, I dabbed a bit on to make sure it stuck before cutting it.

The road was well icy before it snowed, they don't salt this bit. It was no emergency stop, I'm always on the look out for things running out so no drama.

At least you can see 'em on the fens. I've had the bastards come at me out of a tree-filled roundabout on an M27 junction, across the A31 out of thick woods and the only time I really got caught out was when a young buck jumped the fence from the oil refinery, lost its footing on the main road and scarpered like fuck up a residential close....Wasn't expecting that one.
We had one in the container terminal one nightshift - bounded on three sides by industry it can only have swam across the Test and come up a launching ramp for the mooring tenders. The straddle driver that called that in nearly got a D&A test at first.

Bought a set of halfords chisel screwdrivers about six weeks ago and I've lost all but two of them. I got a £50 amazon voucher from my mam for christmas so I've treated myself to two sets of wera jobs to match my allen keys. We'll see how long these fuckers last.
