Got sick of the Porsche leaking and generally being unsuitable. Therefore the most sensible thing to do was run it up to the big shed and swap it for this big bastard - been off the road for nearly 3 years but went through the MOT with just an ARB link and handbrake adjustment. Result!

Re: What did you do today?
My van isn't due in for repair till Friday. I've just had to pull off the A19 on to some minor roads as the gearbox sounds like it's eating itself and is about to explode any minute. I've pulled up and I'm wondering what to do. Should I limp it to the garage fifteen miles away or should I phone for recovery?

If it's that bad I'd phone for recovery especially if it's a 15 mile drive, or probably less under its own power.

I'd say recovery too, if it's eating itself then the bits will be doing more damage & make the repair more expensive.

Re: What did you do today?
Picked up the lads Kia Proceed GT today. Their 7 year warranty is pretty good as it was all done at no cost. I was a bit surprised with the outcome of the fault mind. It went in with lots of random warning lights coming on and the speedo and rev counter not working. It also had trouble with the power steering and it was down on power due to the engine management light on. All this was caused by a faulty vacuum pump apparently. I have no idea how a vacuum pump would cause all those issues but it is all fixed now.

Was it actually a Kia dealer that let the car out like that in the first place? Good job it was delivered if so!

If I had to buy a new car it would be KIA or Hyundai, hands down. Fortunately, I do not have to buy a new car.
