I've had fast cars before. I'm always smiling when I'm driving it. Proper cheers me up. It's well sorted chassis wise. It's coil overed and fully poly bushed and handles like a dream.Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:45 pm They really suck the juice then tho for what you get!? Go and test drive a 350 Z. I used to have an ex cid s70 t-5 in that salmon pink they did. That was modded to fuck with a massive turbo. Really quick god knows what the output was. It used to spin the wheels in 4th at 60mph!

Re: V50 Shenanigans
So it's a Denso 31268 ?55 150 Amp. From what I've read the 120 and 150 ones are somehow different and the car knows if you fit the wrong one?
Edit. Looking back at Mr Hondas numbers it must indeed be the 31288155
Ordered this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-VOLVO-V ... ondition=4
Same year, about 90K less on it and good feedback on the seller, fingers crossed anyway.

Had an email from DHL, seems it's on its way and should be delivered between 4 and 5pm. Mines drop number 95 for some poor sod.

Re: V50 Shenanigans
All back and on the car, charging at 14.8v. All the messages have dissapeared but the full beam lock on has gone AWOL, I can hear something clicking in the passenger footwell I've not heard before I don't think? It survived a 6 mile test drive. Now to decide what to do with it...

That's probably the way it's looking to tbh. Just wish I could sort the running issue to sell it privately. Saw Ashley earlier and he reckons it's a 2 to 2 1/4k car if it's fully sorted.

Not too expensive either for an alternator when you don't have to (or can) go out to the scrappy.
(I really need to get my Volvo VIDA catalogue working on my PC again.)

It's VIDA that I need to get this thing sorted properly. My friend Tom who did the daft ZX diesel is competent with it an got it on a working laptop but he's moved to bloody London.Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 8:29 pmNot too expensive either for an alternator when you don't have to (or can) go out to the scrappy.

The alternator did seem to be on the money, it was a few quid more than a couple of others but looked in better condition, it also turned up 24 hours earlier than it was meant to so very happy with that. It was reading over 7 M Ohms on the connections when I dropped the meter across it so I'm guessing that's healthier than a dead short.
