Most of these coffee vans etc are just full of filler and are all about the look. Most won't even have any mechanics in them as they won't be allowed into shopping centers and other events if they had engines etc to drop fluids. It seems a bit daft to waste all that money on an image which is probably why so many end up back up for sale as a business opportunity. I would have no hesitation on selling anything to a hipster to convert as long as I make my money out of it.

This. As soon as you start driving them around as vehicles they need tax (and MOT).

because "commercial" innit.

Hipsters are not like rockers, skin heads, mods, grunge, goths or emos. Hipsters are nihilists without any genuine belief in anything or any new ideas, thats why they are hated.
They are also not a youth culture, most Hipsters are in their 30s and 40s, they are dull poseurs who have nothing real to offer. That is the essence of hipsterdom and why they are so fitting for the current zeitgiest.
Move to the vile hatred or create new thread 'contempt' thread Hooli?

Start your own thread if you want one, I'm sure we've got enough vile contempt here to fill it.

How much is a MK1 Escort 1740 engine worth? Enough that you could sell it, lob an A-Series back in and effectively have a Moggie for free?

This is a curiosity. It appears to have the same inadequate (and single circuit) brakes as my old 1600E. I bet that's fun to stop with a 302 engine

A quick Google found one listed for £1500 on ebay in 2018 that didn't sell.

I am not an expert - but isn't that a Ford rear axle too?

Probably ford gearbox and prop too, easier to nail new spring perches on the axle tube than make it all fit together.
