Re: EBay Finds
I would love to know the story behind it. Kew Chryslers were very popular, I expect someone running an Airflow squirreled it away in the 1960's and the car and the owner are both long gone.

The car's scrap and racing is all it's good for.mercrocker wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:31 pm I know of a good few banger drivers who would max their credit cards to race that. Unbelievable what people will do.....

I don't disagree. But it is still unbelievable the amount of money that changes hands to do so.

Texted my cousin about this. He reckons somebody can buy the jag for two grand, raffle it and make three. Clear grand profit.mercrocker wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 10:58 pm I don't disagree. But it is still unbelievable the amount of money that changes hands to do so.
As I suspected I was right about everything.

Some of you may know that the Datsun I own was purchased last year from Sam. He owns around 50 cars, I enjoyed looking around his collection very much. I should think he enjoys the benefits of family money in some fashion, though I wouldn't know quite how. I found him to be a reliable enough fella to deal with, he kept his word and wasn't put off by a little bargaining.AMCrebel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:17 pmI looked at a couple of the Jags and Rangies. I didn't think he was badly out of line - but I cannae afford any of it so it's really just windae shopping the noo.fried onions wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:53 am Nothing for us at those prices unfortunately, much as I'd like one or two.
I always wondered how he funds his cars - it's surely not from the wages of writing for Practical Classics.
