Re: What did you do today?
Spent another 2 hours on the POS Tigra I bought for my youngest to learn to drive
Found this a couple of weeks ago,
further investigation told me that it needed 6 new brake hoses, 4 new brake pipes making up, rear pads and discs, 2 x disc backing plates, loads of other clips and bolts, a new exhaust and de-rusting / shutz-ing everywhere, oh and a crankshaft oil seal, so armed with £200 worth of new parts it has been fighting me every step of the way, everything is as rusty as the ferrule on the brake hose but progress has been made.
Fronts are now done, rears are stripped and I'm waiting for parts, all the copper pipes have been made, I hate working on cars, the reason I bought a newish one is that I wouldn't have to do this shit but none of us are made of money.

2005, the car is impressively shiny up top and there was no mention of any corrosion on previous mot's, the brake pipes must have been pretty bad back then as the car has only done 1k since then, fishier than a fishy thing, still it'll be reet once it's done.

The Jag lives! Been out and about in it this evening. Went into work and used the pressure washer, then visited a mate for coffee. On the way home I lowered the tone at Aldi and did my shopping. Scores on the doors was just over 10mpg, although I was stuck in traffic most the time. Smoking has pretty much stopped but there is still a slight oil smell, I guess it will take a while to fully burn off. Looks good from the front, not so good from the back!

Good to hear....They're one of those vehicles I considered "modern" until I realised there were hardly any left. In my head, London is still teeming with FX4s....
