Re: What did you do today?
I've done a stupid and bought a Jag xj8 off eBay from 120 miles away. Naturally I'm excited as fuck! Big surprise was the insurance costs, £155 for a year, fully comp with protected no claims. Off on a one way train journey on Sunday to collect it so praying it's as described.

I quite liked my xj8. Especially the 'spurt' button on the gearbox. The back end caught me out once or twice with that engaged.

I’ve just been to the vet for the second time this week. My cat Steve has been in the wars again and has an embarrassing bite mark next to his arse. Obviously he’s unlikely to find it embarrassing, just a literal pain in the arse.
Poor bugger.
Apologies, wrong WDYDT thread.

Re: What did you do today?
I went to a local art/automotive event today.
Few nice old American cars and bikes which is rather normal in Sweden.
But here comes my favourite.
I don’t think I knew about these Autobianchi/Lancia/Fiat things before moving here but there’s still few of them knocking about.
I have a soft spot for only few things and small Italian moving objects are amongst that group.

Re: What did you do today?
Tinkered about with the Saab V4 this afternoon. Starts easier now but I'm fairly sure the carb is a bit large for it.
With the idle screw set up right to idle it is rather too weak to start properly, meaning I need to give it a squirt of carb cleaner or ether. So I wound out the idle screw; now I suspect it will run rich so the plugs may foul up.
I've a Gunson Colourtune which I'll take a peep down when I next get a chance. Been very tired the last few days so struggling to get the enthusiasm going to get the old bus on the road. I know it will come back though.
Need to get the front calipers back on, put the new brake master on and make up a connection to the slave, get the throttle mechanism sorted, fix the battery tray into the boot and get the drivers seat back in, then I can give it a shakedown in the lane.
