Re: Old scrapyard pics
Two things strike me about this view.....Firstly - how fucking bendy must that 400E pick up have been?! I don't even think there is cab bulkhead on it....Secondly, there is a down-at-heel Wolseley 15/60 in there. Given that we should expect that to be at least five years old (and hopefully a bit more) that would date the picture to around the time of 1966 World Cup.64A60 wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 9:53 pm Negative No: 1969-3181.2 - Negatives Book Entry: 16-12-1969_TP&B_396-98 Moss Lane East_TP Inquiry by Manchester Archives+, on Flickr
Now look at the street. Then forget any crap about swinging Sixties, mini-skirts and Flower Power. This is what most of Britain looked like between Geoff Hurst banging in his hat-trick and the Stones getting their famous Redlands drug bust.

Yank on the left is a 1938 Packard, the other is a post-war Ford Prefect E493A

Re: Old scrapyard pics
I think the date attributed to the negative of 16 Dec 1969 would date the picture around Dec 1969.mercrocker wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 11:33 pm Negative No: 1969-3181.2 - Negatives Book Entry: 16-12-1969_TP&B_396-98 Moss Lane East_TP Inquiry
that would date the picture to around the time of 1966 World Cup.
