Here is a nice piece of 50's optimism that promises better days to come......

Not fast but you will have a ball getting there. Power top too - although this in reality only elevates the roof to the intermediate "de Ville" position and you still have to furl the front portion across.
No, its not cheap either but these things never were (unless you owned a scrapyard in the Sixties).

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Can't help thinking that if Ford had drawn a proper boot on these not only would they have looked better they may not have self-immolated so often when tapped up the arse.....
As the man says, though, we would you find one at this money? Daytona yellow, too....

I like these best in standard form and was pleased that it comes on original steels. I thought some early ones had a Kent, but not very well up on American stuff. I'd seriously look at a later one with the opening back window.

Re: EBay Finds
The 1600 Kent was available alongside the actual Pinto OHC for, I think, the first two years of production. The Pinto unit gave the car comparable 0-60 times with the contemporary 302 Mustang.....

My Grandfather bought the (larger bodied though similarly styled) Buick Roadmaster saloon new in '48. It had the straight 8 motor, though of a larger capacity IIRC. He loved it and kept it right through into the 1970s.fried onions wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 11:42 pm If you want one car to last your lifetime this is it:
