Juke was petrol though wasn't it? Like a 5%-ish difference in price between the two here.

Re: What did you do today?
I took the washer jets off the Jag, sodding wiper mounted things, great usually but the driver's side one has been dodgy for ages. I blasted it with every fluid in a can I could find (apart from paint, naturally ) and broggled the four little outlets and got three of them working. Back on the car... fucking useless! So I need a new one, SMG Barret list them at thirty quid (after VAT and delivery), £30 for a tiny bit of stupid plastic.
Also hoovered the car, bugger me, the carpets are cream, I thought they were black and white.

The kia is a far better car in every respsect and can actually pull the skin off a rice pudding. It's rather spacious too. Took our luggage and shopping with ease too.SiC wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 3:29 pm Juke was petrol though wasn't it? Like a 5%-ish difference in price between the two here.

Re: What did you do today?
Outside, the sun was shining which was amazing after the gales and horizontal rain of the least few days. But, the sunshine caused a problem, the cars were misted up! This is the curse of driving with two soggy mutts in the car, they are always bloody wet.
It took ages to dry the windscreen in the Jag but it did clean up (it needed wiping anyway as there was 'nose art' and splodges on the screen) so I took the demonic duo to the park. When we got back, I swapped the cars over (the Merc started fine... amazingly) and I put the roof down and left it open outside so it could dry out a bit.
I blew up the tyres and went and put £50 worth of unleaded in the old heap (the light was on) and with the seat heaters and 'Airscarf' on it was toasty, I was feeling benevolent, so I put the passenger seat heater on for the furries bums.

Re: What did you do today?
The key fob on the kia was well worn so bought a replacement case from amazon. Old key was glued together and wouldn't come apart with pliers and the like. Brai wave, I'll grab the multitool from the van and cut it apart carefully. So carefully infact that I cut through the transponder and damaged the fucking circuit board. Luckily I'd unlocked the car beforehand. I had to take her to South Shields for work at 6.30 this morning.
Found this guy on fb and he's currently making two keys and fobs for a very reasonable £180. I was expecting to pay that just for a spare anyway so no real harm done.

All done and in less than an hour.
I just know you'll love this pic hooli. Needs new batteries so it can sing and dance to rockin' around the Christmas tree.

The way to open things glued or ultrasonically welded together is to get a centre punch in the seam and apply a single BFO hammer blow.
