Never taken any notice of them as well outside my interest but I bet they are decently put together. The biggest thing is that interior, though. I must be getting old as I crave that kind of surrounding more and more. I suppose I have reached what I used to refer to as "Vanden Plas years".....

This Lexarse is the 3.3 petrol hybrid job. I should pretend I am interested in the modern electric shit and this is as about as far as I want to go. It runs on the battery under 20mph but really gets a move on when you floor it and get the V6 singing. I was very suprised how quick it picks up between 70 and 100. You do tend to try and drive it economically though to try and get the best fuel consumption and keep the green eco lights on. So far I am kind of enjoying it, not as much fun as the Bentley but probably goes as well.

Yes we have one, 06 plate RX300 as we need to tow, in the stupidly expensive tax bracket, paid £3k during COVID madness prices.mercrocker wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2024 2:20 pm Hasn't someone else on here a 4x4 Lexus like that? It's a nice car but I need to figure out why there is an EML on fit camshaft position sensor, and I can't figure out how to read the live data.

Ours is the 3.0vvti normally it shows about 24-26mpg running about, towing I've had 17mpg from a tank, best was.high 30s going steady 65-70 on the motorway over about 300 miles. Oddly it's more efficient driving manually rather than on cruise.panhard65 wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2024 8:48 pm This Lexarse is the 3.3 petrol hybrid job. Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again
This one is showing 30 to the gallon average at the moment but with my lead foot I expect that will drop. I had hoped it wouln't be too bad on the tax as it can go in all the low emission zones but it is 390 odd a year. The towing capacity is only 2000kg though which is a shame as I wouldn't be able to Trailer Bentleys with it. I have a customer with the 3 litre Toyota v6 and that had a weird miss fire over 2500rpm that turned out to be a crank sensor. Parts are cheaper from rockauto than buying in the UK for a lot of things.

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again
The Lexus is getting a bit of a road trip next week as I have found a replacement gearbox for the Hotchkiss. It is a much later post war 'box but will fit without too much trouble. The one in there has lost 4th gear and the slop on the gearchange is a bit too much. Hopefully the Lexus is up for a bit of cross channel fun as it's a five hour each way run once I get there.
I seem to have a whole load of my ex cars appearing out of the woodwork of late as a red Midget I did up for my other half's son has appeared for sale complete with a bullshit description. Best of all though is the Fiat thing I owned back in 2008 has come up for sale. I have stuck a cheeky bid on it as it was an awful lot of fun and a lot more useable down here in the West country than it was in Essex. I am not sure where it picked up the name as it had no badges when I had it, but it was registered correctly as a Fiat roadster with a new chassis number.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126623440289 It also got me thinking about other cars I have owned and I wonder what happened to the "right wife" van. (It belonged to an electrical firm called right wire so was altered slightly in my ownership.

Perfect with that "SHE" plate! Catalina badge on the Fiat looks like a 70s Pontiac one.
