No you don't.
Other applications from other manufacturers with identical parts use grease on them.
Some have been using gear oil for years without issue and some have been using grease for years without issue. I'm not going to loose any sleep over it. Better to have grease than be dry.
You know best.
Good luck.

I ran these cars for years.
Put grease in and they wear out quickly.
Use EP90 (as recommended by the manufacturer) and they last for a lot longer.

That's one way of looking at it.

I personally would use grease as it stands a better chance of staying in there.
But it doesn't need to stay in if it's worn out in a couple of thousand miles...
...EP140 has a better chance of staying in there compared to EP90, hence why I mentioned it.

We all know SiC buys working cars to take apart rather than drive though.

I've still got lower arms I welded in new washers for as they'd ovalled..... and a brand new steering rack plus other bits - lowering block for duff with new studs etc.....
If you at any others on here with a Spitfire want them just let me know.
I don't think I'll be getting another........

You could always compromise and use the liquid grease that you put in land rover swivels?
Pfff! That'll end in tears...

Which I've seen people say is best replaced with a mix of grease & EP90....

One shot grease for swivels. Less likely to leak...

Isn't the reasoning for using EP90 in swivels so you can change it when it becomes contaminated after wading? Obviously you can't do that with grease.
