Regards stripping it I dont feel confident to do that and I've never done a job I dont feel comfortable with. Can pick a box up for around 50 to a ton so it's just saving up. I've said to wife I probably wont re insure it in April with issues because the first half of this year is expensive.

Re: Two wheels good.
If you can get a known good box for £50 that would be the way I would go, at a guess even if its just bearings and seals you will soon go through that.
Stuff like that is simple if you take your time and have somewhere to work.
I rebuilt a lovely rotax 2 stroke engine from a cardboard box of bits that everybody had looked at and said it would never run again. I just took my time and worked out where everything came from. If you take it apart in the first place it puts you ahead of the game. You could even film it if you needed to work out where something went or come out from.
Sounds like you have spent more time servicing it than riding it!

Doesnt take long to service it and its basically a toy so its light use only. A clutch change can be done in less than an hour on it because everything is so accessible. The issue with second hand boxes is unknown quality but it's a risk anyway.

Well the old boy lives. New leads and coil. Had a spark but obviously not good enough. Best part was the motor factors had a box of reliant rialto leads on shelf. Box covered in dust admittedly but still a pleasant surprise.

Re: Two wheels good.
I got some nearly new tyres fitted to my bike, a friend of a friend decided he didn't like them after 250 miles. So at £50 I'm happy to try a pair of Metezler Roadtecs for the first time.
Oh & who needs paddock stands anyway?
The bricks etc are only because my trolley jack sinks under load then the bike slips on the axle stands.

Re: Two wheels good.
Do you have overhead beans in garage? I used to hoist backs up and suspend them from the beams. Beans need to be strong though. Seeing weight of your bike and your garage though it perhaps isn't the best idea!

Tiny thin things to hold up what appears to be an asbestos roof, I wouldn't trust them to hold more than lights tbh.

Are you suggesting that Hooli farts while swinging from the rafters of his garage
or that Hooli's farts are strong enough to blow him up to the roof of said garage?
Beans have that effect on me but not as far as levitation.
Auto spell correction can be a funny thing at times.

You seem to have an obsession with Rock Apes.
Were you ever a member of the RAF Regiment perchance?
