There was also 'Patch which which was a Ford crossflow that had been used in FF racing and put a rod thru... it was left outside the builders (Burton engineering?) complete with hole, for years.

After a period of time, there was a sudden dearth of engines available so 'Patch' was hurriedly repaired with a patch and rebuilt into a race engine. That engine was so successful that it became quite famous and driver/teams actually would ask for 'Patch' to run in their car.

Mind telling us the model of each bulb? I really should do the same job on mine. It annoys me everytime I drive it in the dark.

The ones I got are the wrong type, they don't have the base. But, they work.

If you don't care about that, then search 12v 0.9w t1 mini bulb.

When 2 stroke performance bikes still used iron liners the hot tip after a rebore was to leave it out overnight to flash rust then hone to give a surface that would hold the lubricant better.

There was a drag racer with a 2.5 daimler hemi engine that used the block as a garage door stop until it was really rusty and pitted before honing

BMW 4 cylinder for the F1 turbo engines.

It’s a myth. The F1 engines were built from high mileage M10 blocks.

Rolls Royce V8 blocks were left for a year before being machined and built.
