Two wheels good.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Most impressed, looks so much better built, and with more thought, than my 411 air-cooled one. My 411 has been a great bike, 100% reliable over 20,000 miles

New one here is €6,187 on the road price for the top of the range one (with tubeless spoked wheels), including a years insurance.

Same bike in the UK is £6,050 (€7080 or so), €900 more expensive. WTF?
€7,299 to €7,999 OTR here, no insurance.

Pricing of the Himalayan all seems a bit odd in Europe.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Another two wheeled grin. The insurance for the Glide is due next month. Renewal came through. It’s gone up by a whole £2.50. I’ll take that. Not worth firing up the meerkats for that money.

On that subject where are we all going vicariously on holiday this year?

Indianapolis is out of course as it's just left hand bends.

Dug the tattier ZZR 1100 out for its pre booked annual, on Friday. Started first time, warmed as normal, moved it out to the verge.
Then popped back indoors for jacket, lid, gloves etc. Would the bugger start?
I subsequently added jump box( not easy) more fuel (tap working fine) but nada. Full choke to full throttle- nothing. A couple of pops crackles occasionally but little inclination to fire.
It’s never ever done that.
Mystified I called to cancel, pushed it into the corner & jumped onto the Himalayan for a soothing blat. It’s going to be a while before I look at the inconsiderate bastard.

Tomos Alpino.jpg

The owner of a hotel we have stayed in a few times in Croatia runs around on it. 50cc, four speed foot change, expansion chamber. He has owned it from new. Never seen another one, let alone one for sale.
Tomos are very popular in Slovenia for weekend rides out, I've seen a fair few when out there. They ride them out up all the mountain back roads/tracks. You can be in the middle of nowhere and all of a sudden a couple will appear, give you a wave and fuck off again. Apparently some of them go for very strong money.
