Its a bit more complicated than that with split tickets.
Its okay if you miss a connecting train because the last train was late and they should honour it.
However if you miss a connecting train that has split tickets then they'll only honour the first split ticket bit. As the subsequent split tickets are technically still have the train on time.
But as my second train is the only one with split tickets then it should be fine providing I don't miss it. Train before is a standard off-peak ticket, so I might catch an earlier train to guarentee being there on time (even if I have to wait a bit longer).

Ahh been a while since I've done it, makes sense about the split ticket thing there though.

If you buy a standard ticket then you're all good. Its the split ticketing stuff that makes it more difficult. Of course its probably left like that because they don't want you saving money by playing the system.

You're overthinking this again. Just jouk the train and cough up if busted.

Hopefully! Being an old Z4, it could end up breaking with it stuck down anyway.
Currently in T-shirt with jumper and coat in my bag. Car is reading 12.5C but felt warmer than that with the sun.

Train is here and waiting. But locked.
I'm just a generic riff raff guy and so I've never been first class. Will be an interesting experience. Front of the train so first to impact something in a crash
(Tbh this voyager first class doesn't look very special peering through the window!)

It's a rattly old thing - I think I'm sitting on the engine? The HST is my favourite for NVH comfort. Sadly no longer used on my usual commuting route.
