Halliday was later charged with causing serious injury by careless and inconsiderate driving. On Thursday, April 4 he appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.

He was sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment suspended for 12 months. He also received a disqualification and was ordered to retake a test at a later date.

Some of those uninsured motors are worth a few grand. So I do wonder what do they do if they were to crash it with no other car involved? Hide it, insure it then a couple of months later claim on the policy stating it was stolen?
