It took me years to find someone to do mine and it was 5k with it being done as and when they had time.
Before you comment that I was ripped off the MGOC quoted 6.5k plus and the bodyshop have done a brilliant job, the doorshuts are far better than new, not that that says much.
I appear to have done something stupid and bought another Citroen CX. In my defence it was scrap money and hopefully I'll be able to use parts and fix mine and sell the rest on. Luckily it's only a mile from where I live so going to get it tomorrow am. What's the chances the car recovery chap doesn't turn up?
Two cx's is enough for anybody . It's now parked in the back garden and after a brew I'm going to give it a good assessment. It certainly runs well, better than mine does. Initial impressions are it's a lot more rusty though and likely I'll strip it for bits. Should be able to sell enough to recoup my costs
Had to take Mrs Rocker up the eye hospital today. Her 2nd of 4 injections to reduce swelling in the retina has not been arranged yet 3 weeks after the 1st. Today she could hardly see out of it again. Macular Degeneration apparently and with treatment (provided they actually bloody well do it) should return to a mild condition.
Anyway, I used the Cowley as it was already out and just to save a couple of quid on parking I used up a fiver's worth trolling round the town for an hour for the hell of it.
Retraced his original on-the-road journey from the site of Wadham's Morris dealership (its a Lidl or summat now) back to the house where the car first lived. Nowhere to park on either site but I have done that before on the car's 60th anniversary. Will be its 70th next March!
These are times when I wish a car could talk but it would probably sound like me moaning about all the bloody foreigners.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
