Must be like shooting fish in a barrell. Its not like they can hide what vechicle they are carrying on the back of a 3.5 ton truck like this.

It's stupid how much a bare bones recovery weighs these days.
You could build a lwb mk 3 transit recovery at under 1800kg quite easily at the time.

I saw a 7.5t wagon with hiab for sale - weighs 5.4t unladen without driver and lunchbox...

And that would still leave 1700kg to play with. A Volvo 240 estate was around 1250kg if I remember right,a sierra was around a ton. My 2019 mini countryman weighed in at around 1600kg or thereabouts

I always remember The Master from Viz's Dr Poo:

I first saw that as a Flash animation in the early noughties, but it was playing on a Pentium 1 PC with 8mb of memory, so the screen froze and the audio carried on. I couldn't pause it either, and ended up laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe in!

I wonder if my Impala made the transporter into a lardy lardy? Back in November 2014 this was the loading up prior to transporting the old gasser from Erith near the Dartford Tunnel to a friend's house in Bedfordshire where it was to be stored as I was moving up country and the garage was a bit too short for 18 feet of Chevrolet's finest. No problems encountered and after dropping off my car we went over to Cambridgeshire to pick up another friend's '61 Corvette, the sight of two excellent cars must have brightened up some people's journeys!
