Stupid questions about motorised conveyances

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I think I'd be scrapping it if you are paying someone to sort it, what car is it?

It depends on the nature of construction and how well you can weld as well as a degree of understanding of the rules from the MOT man

Yeah, but

If he doesn't, get a MOT man who does. See Hoolie's mam's Romahome.

However, given it's one of yours and what it will be inevitably like in the flesh so to speak, I'd just get the dustpan and brush out and dispose of it in the wheelie bin.

I phoned the MOT man tonight and he says it needs a new subframe. They can be had for about £115 but not sure it's worth the hassle along with all the other fails.

It's a 2007 Punto and is very brown underneath.

Car take back won't even collect from up here! They wanted me to drive the x trail to Montrose, 30 miles away, where they would give me £87. Sold it for 650 on Facebook instead.

I was happy with 650. I see the buyer has managed to get it MOTed the next day without any advisories which I find unbelievable!

(Scrapping the car might be the best option)

Latest rules make it a nightmare to patch anything like a subframe...... If it is out of sight once remounted you may get away with it - but not a guarantee...... Mate is a tester and always says just swap it out.....
For an aged Punto - fuck it.

My mum's welder found a different place that allowed the patch I think, or talked the original guy into it. But yeah it was a damn pain.
