Forgotten cars
Some of these lists are shite click bait but this did throw up some cars I'd never heard of, never mind forgotten.

The monteverdi 375 was one I lusted after having had it in a set of top trumps. That and a DeTomasa Pantera

Re: Forgotten cars
How could anyone forget Monteverdi? Not when they could design a chassis like this.

Re: Forgotten cars
These will never be forgotten by me , my favourite toy as a kid was my Dinky 375, even after the chrome window frames fell off.
I love all Yank engined big coupes from Gordon Keebles and Bristols to Jensens and deTomasos but apart from an AC 428 I think a 375 would be first on the Euromillions list.
This has been my iPad opening page for years
And Hadleigh ( a sort of posher Saint) drove one of only half a dozen RHD Monteverdis.

If you mention ISO or Facel Vega you might summon The Austrian.Warren t claim wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 10:52 pmNot an Iso?NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 10:02 pm These will never be forgotten by me , my favourite toy as a kid was my Dinky 375, even after the chrome window frames fell off.

Especially if you mention the US spec lights they got when imported over there.

Re: Forgotten cars
If I were going on a spending spree my first yank-tie would be a Longchamp GTSE. There is just something so delightfully batshit mental about them.
There is plenty of other merkin V8 engined stuff I would like but I draw the line at the Monteverdi rubbish.

Re: Forgotten cars
The biggest issue for all those 70’s Anglo, Italian evenFrench ( remember Monica) Yank V8 things was this:
But it’s ugly you might have said then, now of course since Bangle and the bloody Japanese and Koreans changed the definition of ugly, it’s beautiful. I give you :
In most cases a quarter of the price, faster, more refined and a dealer in every town. It was better than the real exotic Italian and German coupes too.But it’s ugly you might have said then, now of course since Bangle and the bloody Japanese and Koreans changed the definition of ugly, it’s beautiful. Re: Forgotten cars
The XJ-S is better looking than an E-Type in my eyes. Until you go racing & then the lightweight E-Type just wins on the looks department.
