What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Must be the season for batteries, went to move the transit and both batteries are flat, jump started but there's no oil light or battery watching light. Battery watching light eventually came on. Must be something putting a tiny drain on them. Have disconnected them and will put them on charger when I'm back at home

My camper one is reading a lot lower than normal despite it being relatively warm out.

Think mine is fucked.

Look like most are priced at around €80 to €100. However, which ones are shite and which are decent is hard to define when I've not heard of most of the brands.

I do know from this very forum to steer clear of Yuasa car batteries.

I started the Jag today, first time for 10 days. Amazingly, it started as if it was used yesterday. It might get exhumed tomorrow if there is room in the street to swap the cars around. Parking over the Christmas period here has been, interesting!

It's weird because I've a few yuasa batteries that are 5 years old now and still working perfectly firing up a diesel. I must be just lucky. Now Bosch batteries I've had fail at six months old and I won't touch them anymore

I've only used Yuasa when replacing bike batteries & got 10 years out of them so far.

Think I put Varta in the XJR, can't remember now.

Agreed, Yuasa have been great in my bikes. Better than Motobatts!

Can't remember who on here stated Yuasa car batteries were poor.

Think Mr Cade had less than satisfactory experience.....I still have all mine although I do know from checking my records that the one I thought was 10 years old was actually only 3 so obviously one did 7 years not the 10 I thought it had. I'm not particularly hard on them, though, the ones in the 2 Morrises get swapped around to keep the useage equal this time of year.....

That Civic in the garage for 10 years , had a dried out , utterly dead yuasa .. refilled with tap water and charged with old school battery charger , is still performing like a new one !
