I am off to look at an electric moped on Saturday. It is a proper registered thing built by Niu. Does anyone on here have any experience of them. I only need it for a 2 mile commute each day and just wonder if it can haul a fat bloke about safely as there is one roundabout I have to cope with which gets rather busy at peak times so need a bit of acceleration that the old Velosolex and mobylettes were lacking.

My ebike gets a proper shift on. I think you'll be fine with a purpose built one.

Never ridden one but I am sure it is up to the job. The mandatory castration and Crocs might put you off.

Is it actually registered as a motor vehicle and not something else? The local take away has a few that have fold away pedals and supposedly a 12 mph limiter, I haven't noticed them any more than that.
The electric motorcycles that are learner legal are ok for short journeys and supposedly faster off the mark than a restricted 4 stroke 125
