One thing that puts me off BMWs (apart from the ugly or bland styling of most of them) is the way so many of their adherents including the ridiculous motoring “journalists” bore on and on and on about how BMWs are the best at everything.

The fact that they are so much the aspirational choice of shit drivers and promising drill artistes doesn’t help much either.

They really do have zero appeal for me so I am team Quentin on this one.

I've driven a couple of the older so called classic BMWs. 90s 3 and 5 series. Utterly bland underwhelming piles of wank. Which explains why bad drivers like them.

The fact that I own and have owned for more Mercs than BMWs shows I prefer Mercedes ( maybe because I’m old) but, it seems this video and the S Class one were indeed promotional films for Mercedes. I seriously doubt that anybody driving a similar spec and age W210 and e39 would say the Merc drove better. I also know that BMW’s don’t age as well.
Unfortunately I seem to see as many scumbags in blacked out Benzes as Bimmers, in fact I’m sure my grown up e220d estate cringes every time we see an A180 AMGline. And I’d say you can’t get much more chavvy than MrsN’s White and Red Convertible.

Why are there so many black or white BMW cars about? Don't they do another colour? I shudder every time one pulls up behind me at lights, keep thinking they won't stop.
