Sheffield never got as far as "XWA" on reverse issues - they had already gone to "B" suffix before "XWA" came up.

If only. It dropped a valve and engine carnage ensued so it's being completely rebuilt. As it's a 348 it costs more and the parts bill alone came to 50 quid less than 10k. That does include two Edelbrock ally heads, new clutch and MSD Pro billet distributor as well as other quality parts. Should go rather well upon its return.

I can rebuild a 348 blindfolded while sleeping at a fraction of the cost.
