Why buy an (expemsive) convertible and then pretend it's a saloon?

Reminder of getting a mk1 Orion exhaust home from the scrapper in my MG Midget without taking a single joint apart on the exhaust.

Re: What did you do today?
Booked the kak for a service Thursday week, not had one since spring last year.
The tyre needed pumping again this morning, only did it a couple of days ago! That's the tyre that was puncture repaired a couple of years ago.

As I suspected I was right about everything.

Re: What did you do today?
I got the Jag back from the man that can (Torbay Car Hospital) with its rear three-quarter all nice and shiny and smooth. They do great work, they really do.
I was picked up by the chap who actually did the work and it was nice to meet the chap that wields the spray gun (and all the bits that go on before). Nice bloke and takes an obvious pride in his work. He got the £20 note in my pocket for his pains.
Paid the bill which is, for the quality, outstanding. £280 cash (on the QT naturally) but even at full price it would have only been £400 (incl VAT) and their work is first rate. They are always busy (I wonder why?) and their bread and butter is accident repairs to OEM standards.
As is well known on here, I am a fussy old twat and even I think it looks 'factory', all their work does. I will leave another review on Google.

Well, you have to suffer for style.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 6:03 pm Fuck knows how cold these Morgan and Caterham perverts must be in the winter.
Funnily enough I had fewer colds in those days, although I do remember being laughed at when I tried to hide under an umbrella in a hailstorm when sat in a queue on the M4 in a Lotus 7

Re: What did you do today?
I had a client who was a solicitor and he commuted all year round in a Ford powered Morgan. He said that it was more reliable than his Rover 820. Every year I'd have to set aside a couple of hours to renew his contract, 5 minutes for his signature and the rest keeping him happy by chatting about classic cars.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 6:44 pmWell, you have to suffer for style.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 6:03 pm Fuck knows how cold these Morgan and Caterham perverts must be in the winter.
