Mc Donald's should not be eaten in that Riley, certainly not taken in a drive-thru. It should be a flask of lukewarm tea and corn dog sarnies.

We're old John.
It's easy to forget lots of things.
...but easy to remember when these were new.

"Corn dog"? Anyone eating such septic crap in a classic British sports car needs kicking hard in the bollocks until they die.fried onions wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 2:02 pm Mc Donald's should not be eaten in that Riley, certainly not taken in a drive-thru. It's North West slang for corned beef... and it's not a sports car.

Re: Wobland Spottage
Really? Didn't know that. In which case I withdraw my objection, unless the person in question is eating one of those filthy american things.
I didn't see the pic btw, but a mate of mine has a coachbuilt 1930s Riley racer with (weirdly) a pre-selector gearbox – see pics below – so I just made a balls-out assumption. Mea culpa.

Re: Wobland Spottage
That's a proper Riley when of course they were sports cars.....Looks like a homage to the famous Freddie Dixon White Riley. Freddie was one of the unsung characters of pre-war motor sport - sort of a Newcastle Brown edition of a Bentley Boy....
