When I went to Cuba all the tourist coaches were Chinese - obviously some deal due to being fellow commies after the Russians stopped helping. When I went on a diving excursion the coach was an ancient Volvo that must have got smuggled in somehow.

Saw a Chinese coach on the M42 a few months back so they are spreading.

As a currently theoretical biker I and loving seeing all the utter shite (and some quite decent stuff) people are buying, working on and riding around on. It led me to look at spears or reepers 125s on eBay. There are lots of “just fucking scrap it” Chinese bikes on offer for 500 sheets that must be worth 5 in reality, but it did make me think that in an age when almost no-one fixes anything there ought to a chance of buying wrecks ans fixing them on a smallish budget (for fun not profit).
I had my first instruction on a bigger bike on Monday, about 2 1/2 hrs in all, I found it so much better than a 125. Really want to get the full license now! Passing the 3 part test is not so easy though, I believe that goes for the car test too.

Just got back from a ride up to Cuenca, where we stopped for s couple of days. My mate rode my NC750, and I rode my Himalayan.

Some great roads, and the Jucar valley up to Alcalá del Jucar was excellent. Twisty, well surfaced and practically no other traffic encountered.

New tyres needed on the NC now, as down past the wear bars. The Dunlops on it (factory fit) are dreadful, so Bridgestones 023 or 016 Pro are going to be it's next tyres.

I rebuilt the Hornet today, forks all done and new front pads fitted. Needed the jump pack to fire up, but it was spinning for ages to get fuel through as it'd stood for about 4-5 months because I'd parked it up long before I sent the forks off.
It's all sorted now though and I even checked the tyre pressures. Might MOT it in the morning.

Watched bangers and cash - the one where they do stuff up and sell at a loss tonight. They had a very nice looking CBR600 restored by a woman who races them apparently.
That was a real trip down memory lane.

The old steel framed CBR600s both rode well and sold well. I loved punting them out to my newly qualified pupils because I knew they'd love them and they never broke down.

Bigger bikes are so much more forgiving for learners. What bike are you learning on?
