I know! Incredible isn’t it. The top radiator hose blew on one spirited drive to Suffolk. But it limped home ok and now has a new one. To be fair, the guy who was hibernating it for me gave it a monthly check and run. It is pissing oil out the cooler again, but as there is an oil field worth in there it’ll do till I give it a major service next month. New bushes, ignition parts and some refurb to the interior timber. Cure a bit of throttle slack. And get back on top of the corrosion. Just minor stuff that wasn’t done properly 12 years ago. Then drive it loads more. Was thinking of moving it on, but I think I’ll get it to 200k. It’ll still go better than the micro-mile survivors out there. There is a DD6 with tiny miles for sale a few miles away for £10k! Without MOT!!

No there isn't, at least in my copy.

What you muppets don't understand is that they're like phoenixs, they regenerate through fire.

The above book is going back to its owner today, I took two other photos inc the front cover but the forum won't accept them. Ladybird book of cars 1963.
As I suspected I was right about everything.

Mmm - SLC!
280 or 500, SLC is "peak Mercedes" as far as I am concerned.

The MD of a firm I worked for had a 450SLC, a beautiful car.
The FD had a XJ 4.2C, even more desirable.

Bring back the days of aspirational cars not misshapen lumps with edges, creases and bumps that make Quasimodo look svelte.
