It will only take a few weeks to sort out some kind of stand, set the thing up on it, rewire the motor (which still has its 1947 braided cotton covered wire), and then actually make the bush. Get ready to be bored shitless.

Speaking hypothetically, of course, with this size of tooling the process is known as reaming.
Re: What did you do today?
Had a chance to have a look at the Datty, the front nearside caliper has been dragging and the disc is scored. Fine, I thought, I'll whip the calipers off and refurb, a job I quite enjoy.
Turns out that the calipers cannot be removed without removing the lower ball joint and dropping the hub assemblies, fucking great. The casting that the steering arms attach to stops the lower of the two caliper bolts being removed, so the calipers are fitted before the hubs go on. The Datsun 1200 started life with front drums so originally there wouldn't have been a problem.
Both ball joints are ragged, one is missing it's gaiter entirely, so they're on order, as the discs have to come off I'll replace them too.

Re: What did you do today?
Today I finally managed to get round to swapping the wheel trims on the 405 for some scratty ones I bought months ago. Now I don't have to worry if It snows and I graze a curb or even simply misjudge one. I caught the right rear a while back on a particularly tight junction I think and got really annoyed with myself.
It's just a few miles off the 45K mark now and still trying to keep it nice as best as I can but really it needs shoving in a shed this time of year.

Re: What did you do today?
Today I managed to snap the key in half on my Citroen ZX. Not in the barrel though, I have both pieces. Had to drive home in a non taxed or tested car to get the spare key. Then when picking the kids up from school I couldn't even get the key in the barrel. Very odd. The car is still outside school, how embarrassing.

Re: What did you do today?
Probably. Earlier, when the key broke I didn't realise straight away and tried to put it in the lock but it wouldn't go in. The pointy end of the key seems to release a flap but with it snapped off it wouldn't go in at all. When I got the spare key the car started no problem but I suppose I must have disturbed something by poking at it
