Is the paint bad enough to need a gentle wet flat then a good compounding?

You can see some funkiness going on in the paint with the picture earlier on the thread. Bad overpainted touch up under the window and bubbling around the front near the windscreen base. Not terrible but certainly in do not poke territory.

There's that, a small bubble on the seam above the door, a small bubble on the rear panel (they are almost all frilly as hell there) and the top skin(?) Of the boot floor.
It's absolutely nothing to the others I've viewed and seen online: On the 4 I looked at in real life I've seen 1 possibly 2 rotten chassis; 2 requiring at least 2 1/4 sills probably 2 full sill replacements; 2 requiring full floors; 1 boot floor; 1 rear light panel (in and out); 2 needing "rear sweeps" (where the body sides meet the rear panel); 3 requiring inner rear wing replacement or repair; 3 needing rear seatbelt mount repair; 2 needing repair to windscreen surround; 3 needing toeboard/bulkhead; 2 c post replacement.
All of those were up for more than I got this one and one of them was on for £10000.
Look at this one, which was originally advertised for 12grand:

I had it looked at by a specialist, up on a lift before buying so I'm happy that there are no nasty surprises.
It's on a replacement chassis, but not a galvanized one, which might have knock the value a bit I suppose.

It looks to be a good, usable car with some minor cosmetic problems to me and a good buy given that. You should see the state of the paintwork on my MGB.

I'm in 2 minds about the paint. Some of my favourites had the worst paint jobs, mismatched panels etc; but on the other hand I've never had a "nice" car so would it be nice to have a shiny one?
I do think what it has could be improved, but... Can I be arsed? At least 2 doors need more paint, and.i doubt my skill/patience for that.

If you did that would you be worried about it getting scratched or otherwise damaged?
Personally I'd leave it a few months and then see if it niggles me. In the meantime I'd just wax it to protect it from the weather.
My MG niggles me but I've run out of time to fix it this year as my missus got a bee in her bonnet about a new summerhouse and, in the interests of marital harmony, I've ended up filling two 8 cubic yard skips along with a load of other related work.

I loved having a nice shiny bike when I got my HD. It's now got scratches and stuff and I'm much happier just using it as it is now.
