Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Looks great, will add to my list of countries to ride to and through. Ridden in most European countries, but not Romania. Yet.

Ok, I’ll ask the question… what on earth, was the hole with the huge wooden spider looking thing coming out of it?

Are you videoing any of the ride? Would be cool to watch on YouTube. :)

That was a drain in a reservoir, I've seen similar in Derwent.

No videos as I don't have the kit. Yesterday's roads are the first ones I'd have wanted to film in years though.

I don't film my ride either, and nor do I take that many photos.

However my mate got some great footage of our last trip to Czechia on an Insta 360 x2 camera. I'm almost tempted.....

I'm going to film my next ride. I fear if I post it on youtube I'll get banned for life though.

Where's all the money coming from for all the new infrastructure? My mate was a trucker years ago and used to have to drive to Romania on occasion, he's got some interesting stories about the abject poverty and roads* that they had back then.

I guess it's from the EU, they joined in 2007.

So we've all had the pleasure of indirectly contributing towards Hoolis enjoyment.

Romania is not part of Schengen (yet) so crusty van lifers and other tourists go there to escape the 90 in 180 days of the rest of the EU, especially since Croatia joined Schengen.

I was in Jonquera (right on the Spain/France border) in May, and my hotel was opposite a truck stop. I estimated that 8 out of 10 lorries were Romanian registered car transporters, all loaded with brand new BMW, Audi and VW cars. Where the hell they had come from and were going to is anyone's guess. Do they build cars for the German car companies in Romania?

I think they build them in Hungary, Dacia being the Romanian one.
