Sorry that’s a local show regular and I’ve seen it many times so didn’t take a pic, lucky that 250 is so shiny though.panhard65 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 6:13 pmSod the Jag what about the PL17NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 5:31 pm 11E5805F-A7B5-459C-8D5C-354BBAC55033.jpeg
This was one of about 10 mk2 Jags and Daimlers but was by far the coolest, although interestingly my Mrs only liked the Carmen Red chrome wired Coombs rrep rolling cliche’

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

It’s been around for ages. Here’s a couple of pics I took in Kent in 2011. The jet is (or was) fully functional. I’ve seen it jet propelled at Santa Pod.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 5:38 pm CE449ECC-4DE2-4AB2-B184-A2E404DADE62.jpeg
Fuck knows, but I bet it’s what Bub would build if he won the Lottery.

Re: Wobland Spottage
Ah you're thinking that Ford got it from the 1959 Chevy range which is a myth propagated by lazy journalists and classic car people, the same ones that regularly refer to the Daimler Dart and not the SP250. Anyway the 1960 US Ford has a fairly similar rear end which is no doubt where the idea for the rear design for the Consul Classic and Capri came from. I think the Classic was due to be introduced in 1959 alongside the Anglia 105E but it had to be put back to 1961 due to not having the production capacity at the time. I would have posted a pic of the rear of a 1960 Galaxie but couldn't be arsed . Oh and I'm not turning into mercrocker, honest (sorry merc).

Last time I saw that car it had basically a 1500 with a crossflow head so broadly the same bottom end you would have got in Consul Capri GT. An interesting facet of Consul Capri history is that the car was described internally by Ford management as a "Co-Respondents Car"....in other words one to take one's mistress away in with plenty of room for her luggage but not much else.

Woolworths became Heron Foods, a supermarket with no parking whatsoever. It's for if you don't want to appear snobbish by going to the food bank. Note the 'w' still remains.
They once sold Tomos mopeds.- cros
