What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Blue elephant ( on the B pillar) = baby engine, red = biggy.

Problem arises when you have red on a blue car, and blue on a red! Yup.

:)
You must have one, otherwise where are the married, part-time firemen going to shag their girlfriends.
I had an old ex fireman mate (dead now) who told me about their exploits at Whitley Bay firestation (wetherspoons now). He was an ugly cunt but got loads of fanny as they (hen parties and the like) love a bloke in uniform. They used to give them tours of the station and him and his mates would take turns in the bunks etc.
They'd also get locals visiting where the firemen would cook for them before tag teaming.
How our council tax gets spent eh?

I had to work in the passenger side of the car and sitting in the middle of the road with my arse extant didn't appeal as a long-term prospect.

Plus of course, it keeps the bloody dog on the pavement instead of even further into the road (fuck I'm the Dark Wob version of LBF!).

Having spent an age manoeuvring around I then checked each and every fuse in the passenger door-jam. I knew I was looking for fuses 27, 28 and 37 but as I'm as thick as fuck I kept on getting it wrong so just pulled and inspected each and every fuse. They all seemed to be fine but so I knew which I'd checked and which were awaiting attention, I put them all back in upside down (so the numbers on them are only readable to our colonial cousins) and lo and behold, the fucking roof and mirrors all work again.

So it would seem there's a dodgy fuse, or could it be a dodgy module somewhere that just liked being re-set?

Incidentally, I do know which are fuses 27, 28 and 37 as I have to include all the fuses that are missing from my fuse box (along with the relevant wiring - missing options I suppose) but the three I need are all different values 7.5, 25 and 40 so I'm going to have to spend money on three lots of fuses! Oh, the pain...
I once got a local auto electrician to sort a problem on my metro gti where the indicators kept blowing the fuse every time I used them. He spent half a day fault finding and not reaching a conclusion befor fitting a fuse 5amp bigger. I said are you sure that's okay? Yes the fuse will still pop before the wiring will go on fire.
He was right and I had no trouble there on. Still cost me £150 for him to change the fucking fuse though.

I appear to have done something very stupid and bought an early velosoleX 45(I think!). My mate bought two others and a mobylette. Something to do over winter I guess other than jigsaws! God knows how I'm going to register it though.

The NACC "Buzzzing club" can help with a dating cert. Might be a problem if a NOVA hasn't been done unless it is under 47cc which used to be exempt. For parts try Malc at classic moped spares.

Solex are ok but can barely pull themselves along. I wouldn't really bother with registering as it costs 55 quid and trust me you wouldn't want to ride one on the road

Rewired the little lawnmower. It has no safety interlocks any more but it runs pretty well.

Mowed this much and the ancient, incorrectly sized deck belt gave up. Ordered a new one because it's a million miles long and the local place didn't have one in.
Only been meaning to fix it for what, six months now...
