I got a new roll of Sealey mig wire for my Esab but the spool was too tight on the spindle and stopped the wire feeding. Had to ream the fucker out.

Weren't snap on welders Cebora with a different badge?

Indeed they were. I did along time ago have a BOC badged version similar to this:

Around 2006, a bloke at work was selling a hardly used Cebora, so a mate bagged it for £65. It was mint and looked similar to this:

then since not long after being here, I bought a s/h Snap-off badged version in the North, which I converted to euro torch.

I'll go back through the work done on this sometime when I can be arsed to pull the pics together.

Addressing the four failure items on the CVRT sheet.

1) The door check strap was shoved back into it's running channel and biffed with a BFO hammer to close the gap up a bit and to stop it dropping out.

2) The wheel bearing was nipped up with a punch and BFO hammer. I'd forgot to bring the 52mm socket with me so had to take a bit of care with the blows so I wouldn't mangle the sides of the fresh nut. Reused the lock washer as it was on a different part of it, but put a fresh hub gasket on.

3) Made a patch for the exhaust hole and trimmed it down to save welding, only I didn't because I kept blowing hole on the top run of the patch as it was probably a bit thin on that side of the hole. Ended up just chasing it and whilst the end result wasn't pretty, it was now not leaking there.

4) Ran out of time to sort the reverse light, but ripped the LED wank substitute out and stuck a normal 21W in the holder and concluded there was no power getting to it. I left Joe to unscrew the gear stick cover on the floor of the cab and go hunting for the switch and any loose wires. On the Sunday I got a message saying he'd found a loose wire into a crimp and twisted it together. Reverse light now working.

Went in for a retest on the Monday (10 days ago) and passed!

Despite me telling him not to chuck anything in it for emissions, he did anyway. FFS if I say something is a fucking waste of time, you'd do well to pay attention.

Smoke test was 0.3m-¹ miles inside the 3.0m-¹ limit. Also after fucking about with all the steering ball joints and not checking afterwards, it was as fine at -2m/km (±14m/km limit)

Due to wankness of the law, it having run out of ticket and despite declaration of non-commercial use being submitted on the day it is only got 6 months until it's next test. Should be every 2 years after that.

Next up is the Honda Jizz NCT or the Citroen Synergie MOT. God only know why I'm chucking money at distractions but I suppose hobbies are like that.

Irish Laight Commercial Test - where fitted, must work.

UK Class 4 MOT - first used from 1 September 2009, must have at.least 1 and be working.

1996 CITROEN SYNERGIE

Some will remember this and The Covid™ putting a spanner in the works.

The MOT ran out 4th March 2020. I wasn't going to keep it, but well, y'know like Drum and auctions, I have an inability to sell things...

I think it was last year I bought a battery from Tayna for it. It could have been the year before thought (yes it was actually). How time flies! Back then I got the thing fired up eventually after working out what procedure was required to im-immobilise it.

Left it for another bit and got round to doing more to it back in June this year. The initial shopping list was to find a missing wheel bolt.

This proved to be a bit of challenge. The bolts in question are M14 X 1.25, 19mm hex. They also have a loose conical washer on them. Part no. 5405.49

Anyway checked with the stealer and they are NFP. Thought I'd found some UK ones, but they were actually 5405.72 which will do for now. Citroen C8 and the same with the exception that they have a 17mm hex. Reversible 17/19 socket and brace in the boot it is for now.

The steelie ones are all one-piece and dead easy to get. The build sheet for this vehicle shows it had Monaco alloys on it rather than the Alfa Romeo teledials.

1996 CITROEN SYNERGIE - CONTINUED

Immediately obvious crap to deal with was the lack of a battery clamp and nearside front indicator lens that had got old and fell off. That and the doors. So back at the start of June I was pissing about and the scrappy said they had no Eurovans in. Balls, they had four in when I first bought it.

I did ask the dealer about the strap across the battery, but that's NFP now. Only thing showing were the 10mm flange nuts. As I had miraculously remembered to bring the V5C, I thought I'd spunk some money on some new plates and give the parts bloke a sale for all my non-existent parts requests.

Brown rear plate and offside number plate lamp (yup NFP) floating around in the hole.

New BS AU 145e lipped plates from Telford's. My local O'Factor's made non-BS trailer plate along with the original Citroen UK replacements in old fat-font.

I dicked around and took all the old adhesive off and taped both plates on.

Then I farted around and cleaned some glass inside and out and fitted new wipers all round as they were fucked. It's something like 26" driver's side and 20" passenger side. Then the beardy cunt got in my head.
